The Orlandus Lassus Foundation was established by The Rotary Club Munich-International in 2005. The Foundation sponsors extraordinarily gifted students in financial need with scholarships to the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München.
The Foundation and The Rotary Club Munich-International endeavour to extend their support in every possible Rotarian manner, by providing advice, personal support, and networking opportunities. The scholar will present herself/himself musically at least twice a year in the Rotary Club Munich-International, RCMI.
Scholarship applicants are assessed by an advisory body of the Hochschule and an artistic board. After reviewing the (joint) recommendations of the advisory body and the artistic board, the board of the Orlandus Lassus Foundation makes the final selection. The Foundation’s board is made up of five members of The Rotary Club Munich-International.
From its establishment, the Foundation grants scholarships for one, two or three years. The Foundation has also provided financial support for travel expenses, master classes and assisted in purchasing instruments.
Applications for a scholarship have to be addressed to the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München only. www.musikhochschule-muenchen.de
